The Certificate IV in Justice is part of a vocational education program sequence that includes the Diploma of Justice (six months full-time, Semester two) and the Advanced Diploma of Justice (one year full-time, Semesters three and four). After completion of two years (full-time) study, you will qualify with the Advanced Diploma of Justice. Earlier exit points are also available should you wish to finish with a lesser qualification.
At the certificate IV level, you will gain foundational knowledge of key concepts of criminal justice, including the components and function of the justice system, judicial processes and the administration of the law.
At the diploma level, you will examine the elements of crimes, working within family violence contexts, and conflict resolution. You will also learn to provide client services that address diversity and special needs.
You will learn strategies for understanding, preventing and investigating criminal activities and develop knowledge, skills and attitudes in:
- case management
- youth justice
- research and analysis
- analysis and its applications relevant to the judicial and legal environments.
