Course Description

In this course you will acquire the skills and knowledge required to cement your understanding and experience in empowering and protecting the rights of individuals. This course will include a mixture of workplace training, class time with your teacher and fellow students, the virtual workplace and other digital resources, covering:

  • supporting people with health and wellbeing activities
  • the interplay between power and abuse
  • social, cultural and spiritual differences
  • an overview of human body systems.

In this course, you will complete learning and assessment required for the following units:

You must be able to show evidence of the ability to complete tasks outlined in elements and performance criteria of this unit, manage tasks and manage contingencies in the context of the job role. There must be evidence that you have:

  • recognised and responded to 3 different types of suspected abuse in accordance with legal and organisation requirements

You must also be able to demonstrate essential knowledge required to effectively complete tasks outlined in elements and performance criteria of this unit, manage tasks and manage contingencies in the context of the work role.

Overview of Assessment

This course is co-delivered and co-assessed with CHCCCS023 Support independence and well-being, HLTAAP001 Recognise healthy body systems and CHCCCS015 Provide individualised support This cluster is called: Upholding the rights of individuals

There will be various forms of assessment, quizzes, practical placement tasks, workplace observations and workplace evidence via a log at eitrher an aged care or disability service.

The 2 quizzes are broken up into multiple, smaller knowledge and scenario quizzes, The quiz assessments tasks allow you to demonstrate your knowledge of the cluster content; health and well-being and power and abuse.

There are also 4 practical assessment tasks required for this cluster. They may include a mixture of workplace documentation tasks, practical demonstrations and simulations of workplace tasks.
