Course Description

This course is designed for you to explore the skills and knowledge required to implement systems and processes that support the personal and professional development of yourself and others. You will explore how to identify development opportunities, set realistic goals and develop plans to achieve them. You will be encouraged to establish networks to assist you to achieve your goals.

Overview of Assessment

Assessment is ongoing throughout the course and will include a range of practical and theory components. Full assessment briefs will be provided and can be found on Canvas.

This is a Vocational Education and Training qualification and is assessed for Competency. To be assessed as Competent means you have consistently demonstrated the required knowledge and skills at a standard required in the workplace. To be assessed as Competent in this course, you will need to complete each assessment task to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback from the teacher at the conclusion of each assessment task.

Results that apply to courses that are delivered and assessed in accordance with competency-based assessment are:

Assessment Tasks

You should refer to the assessment brief which is available through Canvas for full assessment criteria

Assessment Task 1 – Knowledge Quiz - Pathways to Personal Development: You will be asked to answer questions relating to your understanding of effective ways to maintain and build Personal Development in an organisation. Due Week 6.

 

Assessment Task 2 – Reviewing Personal & Professional Development (Journal) - This task requires you to develop a Personal Development Plan in the form of a reflective journal whilst you are planning a group event.  As a reflective journal, it will enable you to utilise the methods discussed throughout the semester, to create systems and processes to organise information and prioritise tasks. Due Week 15.

The assessment matrix demonstrates alignment of assessment tasks with the relevant unit of competency. These matrices are available through Program Administration.
