Safer Community advisors are experienced and trained in supporting students and staff regarding experiences of violence, concerning, inappropriate, unwanted, or threatening behaviour including sexual harassment, harm and violence.
This also includes threats or hate speech, discrimination, assault, stalking, image-based abuse/doxing/catfishing or partner and family violence.

At RMIT we have a dedicated Specialist Investigator and Case Manager in the Safer Community team. This person provides personalised support and advocacy for students who wish to make a formal report to the University.
A formal report associated with sexual harassment, harm or violence will be investigated by the Specialist Investigator. The Investigator provides case management of the formal report, which includes documenting of interviews any findings and will provide recommendations for appropriate disciplinary or associated action to be taken, if allegations or concerns are substantiated.

We have a dedicated prevention and respect team that works across the whole of university to co-create change and challenge outdated ideas and behaviours that contribute to gender-based violence, sexual harassment, harm and assault.
