Course Description

In this course you will develop the skills and knowledge required to plan and prioritise own work tasks. It also addresses the skills and knowledge to monitor and obtain feedback on personal work performance.

The course applies to individuals who are required to design their own work schedules and work plans and to establish priorities for their work. Individuals will typically hold some responsibilities for the work of others and have some autonomy in relation to their own role.

Details of Learning Activities

In class activities will include a range of teacher directed  activities, projects, class exercises, review discussions/lectures and independent project based work.

Out-of-class activities include maintaining a digital work schedule and occasional online research.

Assessment for this course is ongoing throughout the semester. Your knowledge and understanding of course content is assessed through participation in class exercises, oral presentations and through the application of learned skills and insights to your written tasks. Full assessment briefs will be provided and can be found on CANVAS.

To demonstrate competency in this course you will need to complete the following assignments to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback on all assignments and once you have demonstrated competency you will also receive a result after your final assignment.

Assessments

  • Work1of2: Initial work plan - Using a digital tool prepare a work plan that includes assignments and productions, breaking each task into smaller steps. 
  • Work2of2: Final work plan - Develop your work plan, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. Seek and evaluate feedback on your performance.
