Course Description
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to determine and address specific issues faced by people who have a chronic disease, in the context of contributing to a holistic approach to support.
The unit applies to workers providing services to people with chronic disease in diverse community services and health contexts.

Recognise factors or issues that may impact on an identified physical condition and report to the delegating supervisor or Allied Health Professional. |

Clarify implications and significance of physical health status with the person in the case of uncertainty or limits on own scope of role. 3.4. Discuss with the person factors that contribute to maintenance of a healthy body. 3.5. Enhance quality of work activities by using and sharing information about healthy functioning of the body |

A combination of activities will support students learning in this course, such as:
- lectures to cover theoretical and practical concepts for each topic in the course . The students will be provided with self study materials.
- Students will learn to apply their skills and knowledge to work integrated learning (WIL), during simulations and classroom based learning
- Observations of performance in the clinical placement or simulated environment will be a valuable part of your learning experience
- tutorial activities (individually and in teams) to discuss, debate, critique and consolidate your ideas and extend your understanding around key concepts within specific topics
- discussion and activities support you to collaborate with other students in your course and debate and discuss ideas( optional activities only)
- Self directed study time to enhance and strengthen your knowledge and understanding of theoretical concepts
- To further facilitate learning, students are strongly encouraged to use a range of communication tools between themselves and their course instructor as well as between themselves and fellow students by using the online learning platform( discussion board and videos provided for self study).
Workplace learning( clinical placements) and assessments requirements-
The integration of work based learning and academic learning will allow you to solve authentic industry problems or address real issues faced in organisations.
In this course your knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed in a workplace context.
As part of this course you are required to undertake 120 hours of supervised learning/assessment in your chosen industry area, gaining invaluable experience and industry contacts.
An agreement including schedule and relevant insurance documentation is required to be completed before commencing each placement. In the case where a placement ends early, please refer to 6. Early Termination of Placements in the Work Integrated Learning Procedure.
This is the designated Work Integrated Learning (WIL) course for C4367- Certificate IV in AlliedHealth Assistance. In this course, feedback from industry and/or community is integral to your experience.

Assessment schedule-
This course has four assessment tasks.

The questions will be short answer, diagram questions or long answer questions. The assessment will have to be submitted through Canvas in week 7.
Assessment task2( AT-2) - It is a written assessment that will need to be completed under supervision in class room environment. The topics covered will be Topic 4,7,8,9 and 10.The questions will be a mix of multiple choice, diagram labelling and short answer questions.
Assessment task 3( AT-3)- It is a written assessment that will need to be completed under supervision in class room environment. The topics covered will be Topic 11,12,13,14 and 15. The questions will be a mix of multiple choice, diagram labelling and short answer questions.
Assessment task 4( AT-4)- This assessment task will be completed on placement and the details of the task will be given in your clinical placement log book.
Feedback is provided on each assessment.
The students can attend placement only if Satisfactory for AT-1, AT-2 and AT-3.
The students will receive satisfactory/ not yet satisfactory result for each assessment task. The students can receive Competency achieved/ Not yet competent result for this competency.

Extensions of time for submission of assessable work:
If you are prevented from submitting an assessment on time by circumstances outside your control you may apply for an extension of up to seven (7) calendar days in writing (email) to your Program Coordinator one working day BEFORE the due date.
