Course Description
In this course you will explore the foundation skills and knowledge needed to capture images for fashion styling. You will become familiar with the basic features of a digital stills camera and develop an awareness of lighting, colour, space, shape, line, pattern and texture when taking photographs. You will also learn to store photos for quick retrieval.

Assessment is ongoing throughout the course and will include a range of practical and theory components. Full assessment briefs will be provided and can be found on Canvas.
This is a Vocational Education and Training qualification and is assessed for Competency. To be assessed as Competent in this course, you will need to complete each assessment task to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback from the teacher at the conclusion of each assessment task.

Assessment Tasks
Assessment 1: Camera Skills: Includes and observation checklist of your use of digital camera features, a written component exploring features of the camera and WHS as well as practical camera exercises. Due Week 7.
Assessment 2: Design & Composition in Photography: In this assessment, you will present a plan for your shoot and capture a series of images following a list of requirements. You will select for revision. After feedback from your instructor, you will enhance the selection and present them in class. Finalise workflow documentation. Due Week 16.
