We’re simplifying the VE grading process

From 1 January 2020, we’re simplifying the way vocational education (VE) students are graded. This is to ensure that all VE students at RMIT are graded consistently.

What’s changing?

Currently, RMIT has three VE grading schemes. From 1 January 2020, all VE courses will be assessed the same way: as Competent or Not Yet Competent

If you’ve already been assessed as Competent or Not Yet Competent, you’ll experience no change.

If you’ve been graded for some courses (such as with Distinction DI or Competent with Distinction CDI), these will now be assessed as Competent CA or Not Yet Competent NYC.

From 1 January 2020, a GPA will no longer appear on official transcripts or in Enrolment Online.

VE pathways into higher education programs

RMIT VE students completing their program in Semester 1 2020 will no longer require a GPA for admission into the relevant RMIT higher education program.

If you’re transferring to another education provider after 1 January 2020, we recommend contacting the provider to discuss entry requirements.
