After your placement (or project)
Thanking your supervisor at a WIL partner organisation
If you completed a placement or undertook at project with a partner organisation you should consider sending a short letter or email to your supervisor. Not only is this the polite thing to do, it is also a good opportunity to express what you learnt through your placement or project. This can help maintain a good impression with the organisation if you’re planning on applying for a job with them after graduation. Even if you’re not planning on applying to the organisation, you never know if you might come across your supervisor again in your professional career.
After completing your placement or project you will have newly developed skills, professional experience and self-awareness. Being able to write and talk about these professional abilities can help you when seeking employment.
