Hackathon - Melbourne Design Week - REFUGE

Join us as part of Melbourne Design Week, where teams will collaborate to produce working prototypes that respond to a civic resilience 'refuge' challenge.

The Refuge hackathon is a collaboration between Melbourne Design Week, ARUP, SHTF SHFT, RMIT and City of Melbourne.

The hackathon will launch at 5pm on Thursday 23 May with an inspirational program of speakers hosted at the ARUP offices. The final pitch will occur in the afternoon of Saturday 26 May on the rooftop of the RMIT Design Building. Teams can be hybrid but must have at least 1 person in the room for both events.

We will be joined throughout (in person and online) by a variety of inspirational speakers and mentors who will provide guidance and insight to a range of resilience and refuge challenges and datasets to support wildly innovative responses.

In addition to the thrill of collaborating on a great challenge, there will be a range of prizes up from grabs including placements with the RMIT Activator program to further develop the winning concepts and a collection of SHTF SHFT gear to look great while doing good .
