Course Description

In this course you will explore the skills and knowledge required to prepare, deliver and review presentations for target audiences. This will include developing communication skills in presenting a range of concepts and ideas.

Overview of Assessment

Assessment for this course is ongoing throughout the semester. Your knowledge and understanding of course content is assessed through quizzes and oral/written presentations and through the application of learned skills. Full assessment briefs will be provided and can be found on CANVAS.


Assessment Tasks

Students enrolled in Vocational Education and Training qualifications are assessed for Competency. 

To be assessed as Competent in this course, you will need to complete each assessment task to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback from the teacher within given time-frame (usually within two weeks of assessment submission) of each assessment task. You should refer to the assessment brief which is available through Canvas for full assessment criteria and due dates    
 
To successfully complete this course you need to be satisfactory in all of the following assessments(dates in syllabus)

Assessment Task 1:Knowledge Quiz Due date:06/03/2024

Assessment Task 2:Presentation A Due date: Planning Doc- 13/03/24, Flip grid video- 22/03/2024, Feedback and review- 28/03/24

Assessment Task 3:Presentation B Due date: Planning Doc.-18/04/24, Presentation and Feedback review- 22/05/2024

You will be given two attempts for each assessment to demonstrate the required skills.

A third attempt can only be offered after discussions between teacher and the Program Coordinator and is not automatic.

USE OF AI TOOLS IN THE ASSESSMENTS-

AI tools cannot be used in the completion of any of the above assessment tasks. 

In these assessment tasks, you must not use any AI tools (excluding text editing software e.g., Grammarly) to generate any materials, content or ideas related to the task.

Extensions of time for submission of assessable work:

If you are prevented from submitting an assessment on time by circumstances outside your control you may apply for an extension of up to seven (7) calendar days by applying through CANVAS - Assessment Extension tab.
