Two emerging esports heavyweights unite in an exciting new partnership

Kanga Esports, one of Australia’s leading esports organisations, and RMIT University, are thrilled to announce a new partnership which is set to accelerate the advancement of esports in Australia.

The partnership aims to support the growth of esports in Australia and provide opportunities for students interested in pursuing careers in the industry.

Kanga Esports will work with the university’s largest student club, the RMIT Esports Club, to provide coaching, training, and mentorship for the university's competitive esports teams.

Additionally, Kanga Esports and RMIT will collaborate on projects focused on the wider esports industry.

Hayden Shiels, CEO of Kanga Esports, shared the organisations enthusiasm towards the new joint venture with RMIT.

“We are excited to partner with RMIT University and support the next generation of esports professionals," he said.

Esports is a rapidly growing industry, and we see this partnership as an opportunity to help cultivate the talent and innovation needed to continue driving that growth forward.

The partnership will also create opportunities for RMIT students to participate in internships and work experience programs with Kanga Esports. 

Sally Tanner, Manager of Sport & Fitness at RMIT University, expressed her delight in partnering with Kanga Esports.

"This partnership aligns with RMIT's focus on industry engagement and innovation and will provide valuable opportunities for our students to develop their skills and experience in a dynamic and growing industry."

Sally also placed an emphasis on the benefits behind RMIT students gaining practical experience in the esports industry and providing them with a better understanding of the different roles available in the sector.

The partnership between Kanga Esports and RMIT University is poised to undoubtedly contribute towards the growth of esports in Australia and provide invaluable opportunities for students interested in pursuing careers in the industry.

RMIT Street Fighter 6/Super Smash Bros Ultimate Tournament

Kanga Esports and RMIT University are excited to invite students and staff to the upcoming Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Street Fighter 6 Fighting Game Community event on Sunday 4 June.

It’s poised to be the perfect opportunity to experience playing in a tournament format, meeting well-renowned Kanga Esports players, and having an all-round great experience with friends and colleagues.
