How to timetable
Understanding your timetabling steps
There are different timetabling steps for different vocational education courses. Check below to see what you need to do:
Automatic class allocation
Most vocational education courses don’t require allocation. You’ll automatically be allocated to classes based on your enrolment group code.
Allocating your own classes
If your Course Coordinator has told you to allocate yourself to classes...
Complete steps 1-2 (see below) for the courses that require class allocation.
If you're studying:
Associate Degree in Business
Associate Degree in Legal Practice
Diploma of Commerce students
You will need to follow the instructions on the Higher education class timetabling page.
View your personal class timetable
When to complete this step | |
---|---|
Semester 1 2020 | From 9am Monday 6 January 2020 |
Semester 2 2020 | From 9am Tuesday 9 June 2020 |
If you aren’t enrolled in any courses that require class allocation, all you need to do is view your timetable.
To view your personal timetable:
Log in to myTimetable.
Click Timetable in the menu bar.
You can also print and share your timetable using the icons, or feed your timetable into your calendar.
Do you see More information for some courses? That means classes for that course aren’t scheduled in myTimetable. Check your course guide for more information or contact RMIT Connect.
Are courses in your Enrolment panel missing or incorrect? Find out what to do.
Allocate yourself to classes

When to complete this step | |
---|---|
Semester 1 and 2 2020 | From 9am Monday 25 November 2019 |
Before classes start, you can view your timetable in read only mode, see all class times and locations, and plan which classes you’d like to be in.
How to see class times and locations:
Find your courses listed in the Enrolment panel on the left side of the screen.
Click on each class (lecture, tutorial, practical, etc) to see times and locations.
Step 2: Allocate yourself to classes
When to complete this step | |
---|---|
Semester 1 2020 | 9am Tuesday 28 January - 5pm Friday 28 February 2020 |
Semester 2 2020 | 9am Monday 22 June - 5pm Friday 24 July 2020 |
Class allocation happens on a first-in, first-served basis, so it’s a good idea to log in early.
How to allocate yourself to classes:
Log in to myTimetable.
Click on each class with a status of SELECT and the class options will display.
Click the blue Select button next to your desired class. You can’t select a class with a red Clash button or red Full button.
Repeat this process for each class. When there is a green tick next to each activity in the current semester, you are finished.
And you’re done! You can now view your personal class timetable.
