One of the benefits of studying is having the right to concessions. These discounts may apply to public transport, health care, travel, entertainment tickets, etc. We'll go over some big ones here, but make sure to always check if you can't use your student concession, especially when going to the movies, a show, or exhibitions.
Please note that concessions may not be available to non-permanent residents of Australia.
Health care concessions are offered by the Australian Government through Centrelink.
If you are a full-time student and you meet the eligibility criteria, you may be entitled to concession fares for Victorian public transport.
The International Student Identity Card (ISIC) can give you:
- up to 40% off worldwide travel and airfares through STA Travel
- discounts at various food, retail and entertainment outlets.
To be eligible for an ISIC, you must be:
- a full time student currently studying a minimum of 12 weeks per year (with 15 hours contact hours per week).
How to apply
Visit STA Travel at Building 12, Level 4, City campus or apply on the ISIC website.
