Declaration

I understand and accept that:

I. The care and accommodation arrangements approved on this form are for the period until the student turns 18 years old and cannot be changed without prior consent from RMIT U18 International Student Welfare;

II. RMIT may insist on a change of welfare arrangements: i. Failure on the part of the caregiver or accommodation provider to provide appropriate services to the student. ii. Dishonest or inappropriate behaviour by the caregiver or accommodation provider.

III. RMIT may withdraw the Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare (CAAW) for the student if the student does not maintain the arrangements agreed upon in this form. Withdrawal of a CAAW may result in cancellation of a student visa.

IV. As the nominated parent, I agree to assist my child in making alternative welfare arrangements in the instance that the CAAW letter is withdrawn within the time-frame set by RMIT U18 International Student Welfare.

V. As the nominated parent, I agree that if no alternative welfare arrangement can be made, a parent will travel to live with and care for my child within the time-frame set by RMIT U18 International Student Welfare.

VI. I understand that maintaining welfare is a condition of enrolment at RMIT, and failing to maintain approved welfare arrangements will result in enrolment cancellation. If a parent does not engage in this rectification action, the relevant Consulate will be informed.

VII. I authorise RMIT to check my child's visa conditions and status using the Department of Home Affairs Visa Electronic Verification Online (VEVO) system.

VIII. Where the student is transferring from another provider, the student must maintain their current welfare arrangements, have alternative arrangements put in place or return to their home country until the new approved welfare arrangements take place.
