If your information matches our records, your membership will be approved instantly. If your details do not match, we will review your request and your membership will be activated within five working days.
Post a message to say hello and introduce yourself, upload photos, browse to find people you know, and invite other alumni to join.
Network RMIT is about creating a space for our alumni to interact, participate, and inspire each other through mentoring and sharing of experience. It’s different from social media because it enables you to find and connect with the huge RMIT network in a really easy way.
Updates: Use this function to post a message to the entire Network RMIT platform and to see what others have been posting. You can also attach documents and pictures to your updates.
Directory: Search for classmates, mentors or people who can facilitate introductions. You can search by name, job title, willingness to help and much more.
Jobs: Post and apply for job, internship and research opportunities.
Albums: Use this space to share pictures from alumni events and create or view photo albums.
Events: Create your events and find out about local events here.
News: Find a live feed of RMIT or your group's social media channels.
Go into the 'Directory' tab.
Search for members of Network RMIT by using the 'Refine your search' bar.
Filter members through their affiliation with RMIT, location, university and work details.
Click 'Reset search' to pull up a list of your search results. Go to their profile page by clicking 'View profile'.
If you would like to connect with them, click on the 'Follow' icon under their name and title. You will now receive notifications when they post or update on the site.
There are two ways to send messages on Network RMIT
1. Via your Network RMIT mailbox
Click the envelope icon in the top right corner of the page to go to your mailbox.
Click the 'New message' button. This will bring up a message box for you to write and send your private message.
2. Via a person's profile
Find the person you would like to message via the directory.
Go to the person's profile page and click on 'Send message'
This will bring up a message box for you to write and send your private message.
You will be able to view all of your message history by accessing your Network RMIT mailbox.
Use the Network RMIT directory to find a mentor to suit your career stage and professional development goals.
Go into the 'Directory' tab.
Find someone who best fits your requirements by using the 'Refine your search' bar.
Under the 'Willing to help' tab, select what type of mentoring relationship you are looking for.
Specify your search further by narrowing down a location, employment and industry details.
This will bring up all the members in Network RMIT who fit your criteria.
To view more information about a person click on 'View profile.'
Once you are on their profile page you can send them a mentor request by clicking the 'Request mentorship' button.
Write a mentorship request message. Include a short description about yourself, explain why you are contacting them and why you believe they would make a good mentor for you.
Join or create a special interest group to bring together RMIT alumni who have a shared goal or interest.
Under the group tab, click on the 'Create a new group' button.
Give your group a name, photo, description and an affiliated website (if one exists - a Facebook group is fine). You can also choose whether your group should be open (public) or closed (private).
Add members to your group. Members can be based on user type, academic details, location and industry. You can also add individual members by name. New users who match the group parameters will automatically be added to the group.
Once you have clicked submit, your group details will be sent to our Admins for approval.
After your group has been approved, you will be able to go between your profile and groups by hovering over the page icon next your name on the home bar.
See what student and alumni events are on in your area, or create your own events through Network RMIT.
Creating an event
Find the 'Events' tab on the homepage.
Click the 'Create an event now banner' at the top of the page.
Complete all fields in the form (including a picture) to create the event.
Create a customised invitation list by filling out the 'Who's invited' tab. You can filter guests based on their occupation, field of study, program, campus, graduation year, industry and location. You can also add specific members by typing their name.
An external link can be added to the event if members need to register outside the Network RMIT platform.
Registering for an event
Go to the events page.
Click on the event heading to get more information about the event and to see who else is attending.
Register for the event by clicking the 'register here' banner underneath the event picture.
Scroll down to invite your friends to the event or to add any questions or comments.
