Reconciliation Week – Treaty in Victoria

RMIT invites you to an in-depth presentation and conversation about Treaty in Victoria, exploring the role and contributions of RMIT.

Join us for this special Reconciliation Week event where CEO of the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria, Damein Bell, will provide an overview of Treaty in Victoria and the journey so far, outlining the current state and future steps.

Professor Rhonda Wilson from RMIT will then join for a conversation to explore the context of higher education and how universities such as RMIT can support the improvement of outcomes for First Peoples.

With opening remarks from Professor Gary Thomas, guests will also have an opportunity to ask questions to the speakers.

Guests will:

  • Gain valuable insights into the Treaty process in Victoria
  • Engage with experts and thought leaders in the field
  • Participate in meaningful discussions about creating culturally safe spaces

This RMIT event will be a hybrid event with tickets available for either in-person or online. In person tickets are limited.

The online event link will be shared closer to the date.

The panel discussion will run from 10am to 11am, followed by networking and light refreshments to 11.30am.
