AI-generated Writing Help

In 2026, RMIT launched a new Val AI persona, Writing Help, to replace our previous subscription to Studiosity.

Why use Writing Help?

While the Library provides fantastic in-person study support, there are many reasons you might want the near-instant feedback an online AI system can provide. As an RMIT student, you have access to a customised, secure AI system (Val) that won’t use your IP or data to train other models. All of your work in Val is de-identified and can’t be accessed by your teachers or other students.

Writing Help offers detailed feedback on grammar, structure, word choice and general sentence flow. As a new Val persona, this tool offers a level of customisation and quality control that will provide extra confidence about the advice you’re receiving.

While we always recommend that you do your own research and consult with our Study Support team for further help, Writing Help has been specifically trained to provide advice for students at RMIT.

For those who have previously used Studiosity for AI-generated assignment advice, please be aware that this service was switched over to Val AI late last year. You can give Writing Help a try today!

Launch Val, choose ‘Personas’ from the side menu and then select ‘Writing Help’.

What happened to Studiosity?

Studiosity has been replaced by Val personas as RMIT’s 24/7 AI study support service. Access to Studiosity was removed in late 2025.

As a Val persona, Writing Help offers a level of customisation and quality control that aims to improve the student experience and direct you to Library and Study Support services when needed.

If you need your old Studiosity work

Go to the My recent activity area in your Studiosity dashboard, open the document, then select Download PDF to save a copy with annotations.

Download your previous work by 31 December 2025. After this date, you will no longer have access.
