We are excited to bring classes back to our vibrant campus in 2022. A lot of programs will offer a blended mode of learning, with more practical programs being predominantly taught on campus.

If you have previously undertaken relevant studies or learning, you may be eligible to apply for credit. At RMIT, Credit is applied for and assessed after you have enrolled into your desired program. More about RMIT's Credit process can be found here.

Did you know that RMIT offers Guaranteed Pathways? Guaranteed pathways allow you to secure your place in your desired Bachelor Degree, at the time of enrolling into your pathway. Look for the 'Guaranteed Pathway' badge on the Pathway Finder tool to see if your program is eligible.

Can I study online?

Please note that RMIT Online programs do not meet Australian student visa requirements. To qualify for an Australian student visa, you must be enrolling into a program delivered on campus.

If you have previously undertaken relevant studies or learning, you may be eligible to apply for credit. As an International Student, you should request to be assessed for credit when you submit your application, prior to accepting an offer. This will ensure that you have the correct duration on your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).

If you are applying from an approved partner institution you are not required to submit a syllabus unless otherwise advised.

If assessed as eligible for credit, applicants will receive an offer outlining the credit available and the process for accepting.

If you're not sure if you should be applying via VTAC or directly to RMIT, be sure to click the red 'Apply' button on the program pages, to find out the best way to apply.

 

Why can't I find my program in 'Select a program'?

You can search for your program by name, keyword or program code.

If the program does not appear in the search results, it may not be being offered in this intake.

Tip: Make sure you have selected the correct response for the year 12 question in the personal details section. If you have accidentally selected 'YES', the program will likely not show up

For best viewing experience, it's advised to apply on a computer using Google Chrome.

When should I expect to receive an outcome for my application?

For direct applications, once you submit your application your status will change to “Under assessment”. Provided you have submitted all the required documentation, you can expect an outcome within 1 – 4 weeks unless your program requires ranking (competitive assessment). In this case, you will be notified by email of when you will receive an outcome. Application outcome delays may also occur if your program requires an interview/folio presentation, or Selection Task assessment.

During the assessment process, if a Selection Officer requires further information from you, a request email will be sent to your registered email address and a notification will be visible on My Dashboard.

For VTAC applications, offers are released on specific dates. More information on these dates can be located on the VTAC website.

 

How do I accept/withdraw/defer an offer?

If your direct application is successful, you will be emailed the details of your offer.

Log in to view the details of your offer via My dashboard.

Once you have received an offer, you will be given three options.

 

Accept your offer – if you accept your offer you will be sent details on how to enrol. All other preferences and offers will be withdrawn.

 

Decline your offer – if you decline your offer it will be withdrawn. If you have other preferences they will continue to be assessed.

 

Wait for the outcome of other preferences – you can track the progress of your application via My dashboard.

 

Defer your offer – To defer your offer, simply accept your offer and await your enrolment instructions sent via email (this can take up to 48 hours to receive). This email will include your student number, which you will need in order to defer. It is important that you do not enrol at this time if you are deferring an offer. What are the English language requirements?

Minimum English language requirements may differ between programs at the same study level.

You are strongly advised to check the minimum English requirements required for your preferred program on individual program pages.

You are required to provide current evidence of your English language proficiency for admission to RMIT.

When should I expect to receive an outcome for my application?

RMIT will normally advise you on the outcome of your application within 10 business days. If you are applying from Australia, you should be advised within 24 business hours if your application does not require credit and / or selection task assessment.

For VTAC applications, offers are released on specific dates. More information on these dates can be located on the VTAC website.

 

How do I accept/withdraw/defer an offer?

Your acceptance will be processed when you have made payment of your deposit as outlined in your offer letter. The payment should include tuition deposit, and if applicable, your OSHC and ELICOS tuition fees and enrolment fee. More information can be found here about accepting your offer and enrolling.
