Checklist for your first weeks

At RMIT, there’s so much to explore. We’ve put together a checklist below for your first weeks. Whether you need to change your enrolment, find a job, immerse yourself in student life or seek advice, check your requirements in each of the boxes below.

Must know info

Get on top of your student admin. Not sure about the program you're studying? Feel free to change by the census date.

Get support when you need it

Whether it’s admin support, or a support service you seek (for example, counselling, money advice or disability support), ask the friendly staff at RMIT Connect.

Get to know Canvas

Use Canvas to access your course content and announcements, submit assignments, and receive your grades and feedback. Watch the introductory video and find out how to access Canvas here.

Find out what’s on

Worried you'll miss out on something? We've got your back. Throughout the year, get the important info you need... whether you classify 'important' as things like timetabling or, you know, free food on campus.

Student events

Whether you prefer to get creative, play sport, explore your spirtuality or join a food tour, discover what’s on at your campus.

Get to know your student union

Join the RMIT University Student Union, RUSU, for free food weekly, free drinks, giveaways and parties.

Meet new students and get involved in RMIT, starting with Rush Week: a week-long themed series of challenges, pub crawl and trivia night, plus a 24-hour scavenger hunt to close out the week.

Sound off! Tell us what you think

Have you found the information in the New Students Guide useful? Take a couple of minutes to let us know, pay it forward!
