Minh said being part of the Brandstorm competition has helped hone a range of skills.
“Participating in this competition allowed me to improve my problem-solving, critical thinking and presentation abilities, as well as my ability to work effectively in a team,” he said.
Giao agreed and said it was a great lesson in perseverance.
“The only way to know if something is going to work out, is to try your hardest,” she said.
“This is how I felt at the end of the competition, when we achieved our goal to be chosen for the national final.”
Throughout the process, CyberGalm were supported by mentors from L’Oréal and RMIT lecturer Dr Kathleen Adams, who the team praised for her invaluable support, guidance and encouragement.
Ly said an added benefit of the experience was the chance to meet with industry experts from L'Oréal, who are always interested in talking to Brandstrom competitors for possible internships and graduate positions.
“All students were given the opportunity to network with senior managers and present in front of the Talent staff,” she said.
“Many previous Brandstorm competitors work at L’Oréal, and many have achieved high level positions.”
All three students are from RMIT Vietnam and currently on exchange in Melbourne.
Giao said she has enjoyed her time in Melbourne so much that she has decided to extend her stay from an initial 6 months until the end of the year.
