Unleashing the Power of Giving: RMIT's Volunteer of the Month

Every month a student from our volunteering community is recognized as Volunteer of the Month for their contribution to different events.

We're pleased to share that the Volunteer of the Month for August is Xinyu Zhang! Xi was nominated for her contribution and help in making RMIT Open Day 2023 a success.

During Open Day Xi was passionate to learn and be active with helping out visitors and fellow volunteers with no hesitation. As a general way finder XI was exceptionally helpful for some of the 35,000 visitors that came through the campus that day.

“During this volunteering experience I gained communication and social skills with other students,” shared Xi.

Xi was given an RMIT goodie bag in recognition of her efforts, which included a $100 RMIT Campus Store voucher, certificate of recognition, and a free 4 week gym pass! Her experience helped her grow as an individual, and she shared her best advice on why students should take up any opportunity at volunteering.

Don’t be afraid, just apply! If you don’t know what to do, just ask and there’ll always be someone to help you.
