Looking to boost your skills? Take part in the Apple Foundation Program during Semester 1 break!

The Apple Foundation Program at RMIT is a fully subsidised program that offers an overview of the skills to become an iOS developer while introducing you to a highly sought-after transferable skill set.

Applications are now open for the RMIT Students Only cohort of the Apple Foundation Program, running for three weeks from 30 June – 18 July.

The program introduces digital tools and a range of professional skills that are essential in the workplace, including design thinking, user research and presentation.

Working in teams, you will design and pitch an app prototype idea and work with mentors to learn about the Apple ecosystem and fundamentals of the programming language, Swift.

“This was the first time for me getting into app development – I thought it was just about coding, but when I joined the program, I realised it was about design, teamwork, and it was also so much fun.” – Sasha Nazareth, program alumnus.

“I’ve always thought of app development as something incredibly challenging, but it turned out much easier with the help from the mentors. After the program, I realised I wanted to pursue app development full time.” – Mason Cao, program alumnus and a winner of Apple’s 2024 Swift Student Challenge.

“You don’t have to have any experience. I had none. If I can learn it, you can too!” – Zenna, program alumnus.

“We hope to jump-start new and exciting careers in tech for program learners! We also know that bringing new people in to help shape future technology means that technology will be better for everyone.” – Professor Karin Verspoor, Dean, School of Computing Technologies.
