Statement: Responding to the impacts of the Middle East conflict

RMIT is monitoring the situation and preparing plans to mitigate any possible impacts to the delivery of classes and learning activities, should the situation escalate or broader government directives be issued in response to fuel disruption.

As the crisis in the Middle East continues, there are concerns about the impacts this may have on our students.

The Prime Minister has announced the government will halve the fuel excise for three months effective from 1 April to help reduce the cost of petrol and diesel. This follows the Victorian Premier’s announcement of a month’s free public transport across Victoria commencing 31 March.

We are currently monitoring the situation and are preparing plans to mitigate any possible impacts to the delivery of classes and learning activities should the situation escalate or broader government directives be issued in response to fuel disruption.

During the mid-semester break

During the mid-semester break (3-10 April), campus and student spaces, including RMIT Library locations, will remain open to all students.
