United Nations Business and Human Rights Regional Forum

Hosted on RMIT’s City campus, the forum will discuss and help shape the future of business and human rights in Australia, New Zealand and beyond. 

Hosted by RMIT Chancellor Peggy O’Neal, the event will feature key speakers and an all-female panel including former NZ Prime Minister Helen Clark, former ACTU President Sharan Burrows, and amfori President Linda Kromjong

This flagship event will focus on strengthening business practices in these turbulent times. Topics include:

  • The future of modern slavery reporting requirements and mandatory human rights due diligence 
  • Advancing respect for Indigenous Peoples’ rights and cultural heritage
  • Overcoming obstacles to achieving a just transition in response to the climate and nature crises
  • Harnessing responsible AI and other technological developments
  • Enabling tangible positive outcomes for affected people across complex global supply chains

The forum culminates in a plenary event in the evening of 26 August. Details below:
