Walk with us in solidarity as RMIT students and staff come together to take a stand against family violence at this event hosted by Respect Victoria.

Join RMIT's Prevention and Respect team at this year's Walk Against Family Violence hosted by Respect Victoria on Friday 20 November.

Join the RMIT community in showing your support for people impacted by violence and our shared commitment to preventing gender-based violence and harm.

Pre-walk breakfast

RMIT students and staff are invited to a free breakfast from 8am–9am at RMIT City campus Building 80, Level 4, Room 15, 435-457 Swanston Street, Melbourne, Victoria, 3000

We'll then make our way to Federation Square together, either walking or by tram.

Breakfast location and details will be shared with everyone who registers.

Date, time and location

  • Walk start time and location: The walk will commence at 10am at Birrarung Marr (Upper Terrace).
  • Where we're walking: The walk will begin at Birrarung Marr Hilltop (Birrarung Marr, Upper Terrace) and end at Treasury Gardens (approximately 700 meters). This is the same route as the 2025 walk.
  • RMIT meeting point: RMIT students and staff who cannot attend the pre-walk breakfest (see above) are encouraged to meet the RMIT Prevention and Respect team at 9.30am at Federation Square opposite Flinders Street Station before the official walk begins at Birrarung Marr (Upper Terrace).

Is the walk accessible?

Respect Victoria are working to ensure the walk will be as accessible as possible. Check the Walk Against Family Violence webpage for more details.

If you have questions about accessibility that are not answered on the webpage, please email contact@respectvictoria.vic.gov.au or reach out to the RMIT Prevention and Respect team at respect@rmit.edu.au and we can help follow up.
