Prof. Jie Li is a recognised expert in expansive soil, pavement geotechnics, recycled materials and ground improvement, with over 25 years of professional experience as a consulting engineer, researcher and academic. He has been awarded more than 20 research grants worth over $10 million, including Australian Research Council ITTC, DP and LP, and has published over 170 journal papers. He has made highly influential contributions to developing low-carbon and eco-friendly concrete and road pavement using various waste materials and industrial by-products. The findings of his team’s research have been published in the top-ranked international journals and were featured in over 3000 mainstream and industry-focused media outlets such as CNN, Reuters, Washington Post, New York Times, BBC, ABC TV, SBS TV News, Nine News TV, 10 News TV, Xinhua (China), World Economic Forum, La Repubblica (Italy), The Times of India, Gizmodo Brazil, SCE Civil Engineering Magazine and Engineers Australia Magazine.
