Dr Rosita Zakaria is a Medical Scientist and Lecturer in the Discipline of Laboratory Medicine at RMIT University. She completed her undergraduate and postgraduate training in Laboratory Medicine and gained valuable experience working as a medical scientist before transitioning to academia at RMIT. With a passion for educating medical scientists, she has honed her skills in various aspects of laboratory sciences throughout her career.
Currently, Rosita holds the position of Program Manager for the Laboratory Medicine undergraduate degrees at RMIT. In addition to her academic responsibilities, she actively contributes to the expansion of the educational network. She serves as an Education Representative and Committee Member of the AACB Victoria Branch, where she plays an instrumental role in shaping educational initiatives. Furthermore, she is a member of the IFCC Working Group on Method Evaluation Protocols, contributing to the advancement of laboratory practices on an international level. Additionally, she holds an honorary research position at MCRI. Rosita's areas of expertise and research interest lie in method development and validation for micro-samples and complex matrix analyses, utilizing Mass Spectrometry techniques. Rosita's contributions to education, research, and the field of Laboratory Medicine exemplify her commitment to excellence and innovation.
