Anita Samardzija completed her PhD at the School of Global, Urban and Social Studies, and is an associate member of the Centre for Global Research.
Anita's PhD research was on the contemporary national identity in Serbia. In particular, her interest lies in analysing national identity and nationalism during the process of European Union (EU) integration, especially at a time of tension and uncertainty for the EU.Anita teaches in a number of courses at GUSS: 'Global mobility and ethnic relations', 'Power and governance', 'Intercultural communication' and 'Australian society in a global context'.
She has also been part of the Research Information and Reporting team at RMIT's Research and Innovation Portfolio. Here she is familiar with publication processes and research integrity.
