As Senior Learning and Teaching Advisor, Kellyann's key focus is to support and lead contemporary tertiary learning and teaching practices and projects.
I bring over 12 years of experience in the university sector in diverse roles including teaching and academic positions across VE and HE, lecturing both on and off-shore, as well as coordinating positions: Fine Art Photography Studio and the Internship course, School of Art. My PhD research project is positioned in the discipline of Fine Arts.As Senior Advisor Learning and Teaching in Fashion and Textiles and, as part of the DSC Academic Development Group, I assist individual teachers, academics and program teams with the following:
- provide feedback and support for all learning and assessment activities to develop creative, inspiring teaching
- work with staff on enhancement projects, innovations and strategy to improve the student experience
- plan, lead and evaluate professional development activities to support quality improvements and best practice
- assist schools to review learning and teaching activity and support actions to improve student experience and program quality
- provide educational development expertise, advice and support for curriculum and program development
- offer advice and assist Schools to ensure compliance with University academic policy and procedures
- negotiate with College and central services to support School L&T activity
My areas of engagement in the College include leading the Connecting Sessional Staff project, College sessional staff induction and developing associated resources. For this work, I was awarded Benchmarking Leadership and Advancement of Standards for Sessional Staff (BLASST) Good Practice Award in 2015.
From 2015-2017, I supported the Office of Learning and Teaching (OLT) grant application processes in the College. In 2013, I was a project team member on Contribute: Peer learning for inclusive practice in Art and Design and developed and facilitated the LEAD program for first year students, School of Art.
