Global Experience enrolment guide – Outbound students

For RMIT Melbourne students approved to undertake overseas study under a Masters Dual Award Program, Global Paid Internship or a Global Summer or Winter Program.

The information on this page applies to students approved to undertake one or two semesters of study at an exchange partner institution under one of these arrangements:

Before you enrol in courses at the exchange partner institute, you must:

  • Receive approval of your study plan from your RMIT School
  • Have received an acceptance letter from the Global Experience Office.

The Global Experience Office will email an acceptance letter to your student email account before the start of your studies.

You will need to drop your RMIT classes you enrolled in Enrolment Online for the period of your approved exchange, and then enrol in approved school-specific exchange courses (EXTL courses) before your semester census date. For census dates information, see important dates.

This information is provided in the letter sent to you by the Global Experience Office.

Going for two semesters?

Students starting their exchange in July (RMIT Semester 2) will need to enrol in their second semester of exchange study (RMIT Semester 1 of the following academic year) once the Semester 1 enrolment period opens in October.

Transcripts

Your host institution will provide the Global Experience Office with an official copy of your transcript, which will state the courses and grades you obtained whilst on exchange. The Global Experience Office will send this to your RMIT School so grades can be entered for your exchange courses.

It’s recommended that you also order a personal copy of your exchange transcript directly from your host institution for your own records.
