1. What can we help you with?

You can choose from cross-campus study, semester exchanges, short-term study tours and international work experience. For more information please see the Global Opportunities page.

You can also have global experiences through our on-campus and online programs. For more information, please visit the Global leadership page.

Short-term experiences are group study tours and on-campus study programs which usually take place during semester break and are between two and six weeks in duration.

For more information, please visit the Short-term programs.

Student exchange involves studying for one or two semesters at an overseas host partner institution.

Study with one of our 200+ international exchange partners and have the international experience of a lifetime - without putting your studies on hold.

To find out more information about eligibility criteria, our exchange partners, what you can study, where you can go and the application process, please click Overseas.

Each global experience has a unique application process. It's important that you attend an information session before you begin the application process.

If the experience you have selected is open for registration the ‘Apply now’ button will appear in Mobi, the online application portal.

If you cannot see an ‘Apply now’ button, registration is not yet open for the next intake of the global experience.

Please visit the Overseas page for more information on how to apply.

For information about how to finance your global experience through scholarships, grants, OS-HELP loans, continuing Centrelink payments while you're overseas and estimated living expenses, please visit the Financial assistance page.

You can find step-by-step instructions on how to complete your Global experience study plan.

If you require additional course information from the host institution please contact the Global Experience Office through the RMIT Connect portal below.

To gain credit towards your overseas experience, you must ensure to get a Study Plan completed and signed before you go.

When you return, your courses will be credited to your program once a transcript has been received from the host university, and once this has gone through the relevant School for processing.

The Study Abroad program is similar to studying on a Semester/Year Exchange, however you study at an institution where we do not have an exchange agreement or where we have very limited places for exchange students.

Study Abroad students will be required to pay the Host Institution tuition fees upfront and will not be eligible to get this paid on HECS-HELP. Study Abroad applicants will not pay RMIT tuition fees.

The benefit of a Study Abroad program is you are not limited in your choice for destination or institution.

For more information about Study Abroad, please visit the Global Experiences page.
