What's over the horizon, around the bend?

VISUALS: The text "Complex World" is on a black background and the font is showing blue-coloured footage of people walking. Then the word "Surprise" is ripped over the word "Complex" as white font on a red background. Then the word "Evolve" rips over "World" as red font on a blue background.

VISUALS: The text "Factors" is ripped over the word "Surprise" as yellow font on a purple background. Then the word "Forces" rips over "Evolve" as purple font on a yellow background. VISUALS: Over the middle two thirds of the "Mould" and "Shape" text, another image is ripped over the screen of two women wearing wigs and coats holding up oversized cameras made out of cardboard with people standing behind them. Then the whole screen dissolves to show an image of two men laughing and standing under an outdoor umbrella. Then the image is replaced by the text "New" as white font on a black background covering the whole screen before another image is ripped over that showing a female wearing laboratory safety gear holding something up with white text "Possibilities" appearing over her hands.

VISUALS: The words "Respond" and "Adapt" appear on two lines across the whole screen as white font on a blue background. The first three letters of the first word and the last three letters of the second word animate and toggle between enlarging and becoming smaller. Then the text "Make" is ripped over the screen as pink font over a blue background which also overlays another ripped pink background. The "Make" text enlarges and then disappears to show a quick series of images of the RMIT sign on campus and an external view of the city campus. The city campus image, which at first was a pink hue, is now a full colour image with the text "Place" appearing across the middle.

How we respond and adapt to these influences, what we make of them is what defines our success and place in the world.

VISUALS: The text "5 Years" appears across the whole screen as white font on a black background. Then an image with a red hue is ripped across the screen of a female and male smiling at the camera. Green arrows point to the text "Ready for Life and Work". The image then animates off screen and shows a street corner with the same " Ready for Life and Work" text printed on a street billboard with three pedestrians waiting at traffic lights and walking on the footpath.

Five years ago, RMIT's plans for the future took shape.

VISUALS: The image is then replaced with a view of people's heads sitting in a dark theatre watching a presentation on a large screen. The image is replaced with a series of street posters and blurred pedestrians on the edge of the frame. Two of the street posters each feature an image of a female and male with the text "Life Changing Experiences" and "Passion with Purpose" respectively.

TEXT ON SCREEN: Shaping the world. Goal 5: Research and innovation: creating impact through collaboration. Goal 6: Industry and enterprise embedded in everything we do. Goal 7: Global reach. Life Changing Experiences. Passion with Purpose.

We are making good progress.

VISUALS: The text "Now" appears over the whole screen as yellow font over a purple background. Then an image is ripped over the text showing a person holding a football painted in an Indigenous style with the text "Make That" in white font over the screen. Then the image is replaced by a gloved hand holding plant matter. The image has grid lines over it with the text "Future" in white over the screen. Then the image is replaced by an array of bold colours colliding and exploding with the text "Happen" in white font over the screen.

TEXT ON SCREEN: Now make that future happen.

VISUALS: The text "Next Stage" appears across the screen in white font over a blue hued image of buildings. The text then animates to become the text "Evolution".

VISUALS: The text "Means" appears in large white font on a blue background on the top half of the screen. Then a red hued image of two pilots in a cockpit appears with the text "Forge our own path" as white font.

VISUALS: An image appears of a male adjusting a mechanical, tripod-like device in front of a leafy background. The image first appears in a pink hue with the opaque text "Next" superimposed and then the hue fades to show a full colour image. Then the text "Big Thing" covers the screen in a light green font over a blue background.

What will be the next big thing?

VISUALS: A rip then appears at the top of the text "Thing" before the text "Thing" rips again and animates to a larger size. Then a large rip appears across the screen with the text "Discovery" in the same light green font on a darker blue background. The "Discovery" rips multiple times overlaying the same text and toggling the font and background colours.

TEXT ON SCREEN: Discovery.

The next new discovery.

VISUALS: Then a new rip appears in the middle of the screen with the text "Breakthrough" in white font on a light blue background. The background colour then fills the screen and the text animates and enlarges before splitting into four sections cross-diagonally, enlarging and animating off screen only to be replaced by the same cross-diagonal text as light green font on a dark blue background, which also animates come together as one image.

TEXT ON SCREEN: Breakthrough.

The next breakthrough.

VISUALS: A green hued image then rips across the text to show a female standing in front of other females, wearing an optical headset. The image then animates into cubes and fills the screen before a time lapse clip appears people moving up and down a long escalator. The clip then changes to a blue hue with the text "Uncertain" appearing in white font. The camera then pans across to the bottom of the escalator and the text animates 90 degrees before a new image slides across almost half of the right side of the screen showing tight black concentric circles, such as in a film reel, with numbers counting down. Then a rip appears across the top half of the screen with the text "Guided By" in blue font on a pink background before a new rip appears across the text. Underneath the new rip, the text "Purpose" appears in pink font on a blue background.

TEXT ON SCREEN: Uncertain. Guided By Purpose.

[Male voiceover]

For, although the future is uncertain, at RMIT we know that our next must be guided by purpose.

VISUALS: The top ripped section is replaced by the text "Shaped By" in white font on a black background before the bottom side of the rip changes the text to "Matters" in orange font on a pink background. Then the bottom section of the rip animates further up the screen and the text changes to "To Us" as purple font on an orange background.

TEXT ON SCREEN: Shaped By What Matters To Us.

Shaped by what matters to us.

VISUALS: The bottom rip section is then replaced with the bottom half of an image of two people in a laboratory operating a contraption. The image then changes to a person holding a snow board, walking in a line of people on a snow-capped mountain.

And by the mark we want to make on the world.

VISUALS: The image is then replaced by a group of people dancing in a foyer with onlookers. The text "5 Years" then covers the screen in orange font on a pink background.

VISUALS: A rip appears across the middle of the screen with the text "Month" as pink font on an orange background.
