Getting to the Graduation Pre-Party

Graduates and guests are encouraged to take public transport to attend the Graduation Pre-Party. RMIT City campus is easily accessed via train, tram and bus. Plan your journey on the PTV webpage or download the PTV App.

The nearest train stations to RMIT City campus are Melbourne Central Station, and the new State Library Station (expected to open in early December 2025). The State Library Station entrances – opposite RMIT's Building 16 and next to Building 12 – will provide easy access to both ends of Bowen Street.

Parking around RMIT City campus is limited. For information on parking options, see Parking on campus.

Getting from the Pre-Party to the Ceremony

After the Pre-Party finishes at 12noon, it's time to go to the main event – the Melbourne Graduation Ceremony at Marvel Stadium!

Graduates and guests will be able to enter the Stadium when gates open from 12.30pm. All graduates must register at their stage between 1.30pm-2pm.

We strongly recommend taking public transport from RMIT City campus to Marvel Stadium. Traffic will be very heavy and there is extremely limited parking around the Stadium.

Please allow plenty of time to get to the ceremony. Trams run from City campus along La Trobe and Bourke streets directly to the Stadium, and trains go from the nearby Melbourne Central Station to Southern Cross Station, which is a short walk from the Stadium.

Plan your journey on the PTV webpage or download the PTV App.

If you have accessibility requirements and require onsite parking, you can find information on the Melbourne Graduation Ceremony webpage

Wear your gown, snap some pics!

Graduates are encouraged to wear their graduation gown at the Pre-Party. Information on when you'll collect your gown and how to wear it is available on the Melbourne Graduation Ceremony page.

Need help with your gown? There will be gown pinning stations and the Pre-Party and staff to help at your stage at the Ceremony.
