Assessment period is fast approaching - or for some of you it may already be here. Luckily, RMIT's got you covered with free tools and support services that will help you get ahead.

We know assessments are so easy to leave to the last minute, but planning ahead is a great way to feel confident and get organised to tackle those essays, reports or group presentations. Plus, it’s a good flex of your time management skills (a valuable skill in the workplace).

Break down your assessments into manageable tasks

Are you getting stuck every time you try to start a big assessment? Does a blank page fill you with dread?  

Struggle no more, Assignment Planner is here to help. Use this online tool to get a step-by-step plan with tips and advice for completing your assessments. You can save, print or import plans into your personal calendar.

Prefer talking to someone?

Our Librarians and Academic and Maths and Science Skills Advisors are on-hand to give you advice on everything from presentation skills to using AI in your assessments and understanding academic integrity and how not to breach it.  

They’re available for in-person or online study consultations, or you can drop in to the Study Hub at the City campus.

Don’t lose marks to incorrect referencing

Ah referencing, the dreaded necessity of uni assessments but an easy way to lose marks if you’ve done it incorrectly. So, before you start, get familiar with Easy Cite which provides you with tips for and examples of common referencing styles used at RMIT.
