Accessibility and Disability: Library Teaching Spotlight

This session is for staff who want to embed inclusive actions into their practice ensuring diverse perspectives of students with disability are considered and easily adopted.

About this event

Embedding accessibility and disability inclusion allows any student with or without disclosed disability to participate with reduced intervention and independence. This session aims to raise awareness and address ableism that exist within systems as well as provide tangible actions in digital accessibility to ensure it can be included when designing assets and classroom content.

The session will be delivered by:

Jacinta Jones-O'Meara, Coordinator, Accessibility

Jacinta is a disability practitioner with 18 years of disability advocacy and experience to share.


Dr Ronny Andrade, RMIT Digital Accessibility Lead

Ronny supports the delivery of accessible digital assets and his work spans across the entire product life cycle: from design to implementation to use. He is a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies, has a doctoral degree (PhD), and lived experience of low vision. As part of his doctoral research, Ronny investigated accessibility in video games for people with visual impairment.
