Open education

Open education promotes the use of freely available, openly licensed resources and inclusive, collaborative pedagogies in teaching and learning, removing barriers to education for learners.

Why use OER?

  • They are sustainable, inclusive, and affordable alternatives to traditional learning resources.
  • They enable improved student engagement by removing cost barriers to learning materials and increasing the dynamic and accessible nature of course content.
  • Educators can create, access and adapt free, peer-reviewed, open-source materials to supplement learning – like e-textbooks, videos, quizzes, case studies, and more.
