Digital Storytelling Studio Event Series

As part of RMIT’s Digital Storytelling studio, we are running a series of mixer events and workshops focused on storytelling across disciplines, manifestations and modalities. Everyone is invited.

These events support coming together as an RMIT community, nurturing spaces for diverse forms of storytelling and empowering a wider range of voices to share their stories.

Storytelling in All its Guises: Public Art

Audience: Staff
Date: 20 November 2025
Time: 4:30pm–6:30pm
Venue: Rocking Chair Lounge, Building 12, Level 6, Room 105, City campus.

Our third mixer focuses on how we can tell stories in the public realm using simply materials – cut outs and stencils from paper, wood or vinyl. Public Art is often large and permanent, but how are stories that require a transitory moment being told? Come and hear from storytellers using materials that are less permanent, ephemeral or trace-like to see how and why they use these modalities and the impact it can have on how we experience these stories.

We will also have the opportunity to hear from a number of City North Activation projects at this mixer. Come along and get excited about the amazing work happening here at RMIT.
