RMIT students shine at WorldSkills Australia National Championship

RMIT’s vocational education students have impressed at one of Australia’s premier career and skills events, the WorldSkills Australia 2025 National Championships, held over three days in Brisbane.

RMIT students walked away with Gold, Silver and Bronze for Additive Manufacturing, Gold and Silver for Web Design and Development and Gold and Silver for Cloud Computing, securing RMIT as the best in country for these skills. RMIT’s results also contributed to Victoria having the highest gold medal tally for the competition.

The event, designed to challenge and inspire students, apprentices and trainees from across the country, celebrates hands-on talent in vocational, technical and service-based careers. It offers students the opportunity to put their learning into practice in real-world, high-pressure competitions.

Among the 12 participants representing RMIT, an outstanding seven came away with medals—an impressive haul featuring three gold, three silver and one bronze.

Mish Eastman, RMIT's Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Vocational Education and Vice-President, applauded the students’ commitment and success.

“The latest results from the WorldSkills Championship highlights not only the dedication and ability of our students, but also the quality and commitment of our teaching teams here at RMIT.

“Congratulations to all of the students who competed this year – you have represented RMIT brilliantly on the national stage and we are very proud. I’m sure this is just the beginning in a successful learning journey and ongoing career.”
