Revamped Executive MBA prepares next generation of business leaders

RMIT has revamped its Executive Master of Business Administration to offer unparalleled flexibility with six diverse specialisations.

Built to transform the approach to senior business leadership, the evolution of the program aims to educate the kind of leaders who want to create a better future, and who are ready to tackle complex challenges and make a meaningful impact.

The Exec MBA now offers six specialised minors, including Leadership and Technology, Strategic Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics, Public Policy, Arts Management, Fashion Entrepreneurship, or Health Leadership.

Professor Emma Sherry, Dean, School of Management, said the revitalised program builds on RMIT’s already previously successful Exec MBA to empower graduates with a sustainable advantage.

“We’ve designed the Exec MBA to equip graduates with design thinking, innovation, and technology at its heart to give them a sustainable advantage in their career,” said Professor Sherry. 

“By revamping the curriculum for a new generation of business leaders, this program prepares our graduates to take control of their leadership journey across any industry and be prepared for the future of business in Australia and across the globe.”

Students gain access to an industry guest speaker program, international study tours, global networks, and work-integrated learning (WIL) projects with business, social, or ethical impact.

Joe Daniel, Head of Enterprise Project Management Office at City of Melbourne, who graduated from the Exec MBA in 2024, spoke highly of the program he studied while expressing excitement for the new revamp. 

“Completing the Executive MBA at RMIT was transformative, equipping me with the tools, recognition, and networks to lead meaningful change in my organisation and community,” said Daniel.   

“I’m excited to see the revamped program with its new specialisations and flexibility, which will prepare the next generation of leaders to tackle complex challenges and make a real impact.”

The European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) has accredited the course, meeting international quality standards for executive education.

As one of RMIT's College of Business and Law business courses, the course has also received accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). AACSB accredits the best business schools in the world and is united to transform business education for positive societal impact.
