Statement: Canvas cyber incident

RMIT has been notified of a cyber incident impacting the Canvas learning management system.

Canvas is a learning platform used by many universities across the world, including RMIT.

Instructure, the vendor of Canvas, has confirmed that RMIT data has been impacted by a cyber security breach. We are working with the vendor to understand any impacts as a result of this breach.

Access to Canvas is restored and students and staff are able to use this platform.

We are working together across Commonwealth and State and Territory government departments and operational agencies, with peak bodies and impacted organisations to collectively support the national response to this incident.

Our priority is supporting students, staff and alumni during this time while we await further information.

If you have questions about Canvas access, please contact:
