RMIT has been Highly Commended for 'Sustainability Institution of the Year' at the International Green Gown Awards in NYC.

The International Green Gown Awards celebrate the exceptional sustainability initiatives being undertaken by universities and colleges across the world.

The winners of the 2019 International Green Gown Awards were announced on 10th July 2019 at our host partner venue - the Institute of International Education (IIE) - in New York as part of the United Nations High Level Political Forum. The International Green Gown Awards celebrate the exceptional sustainability initiatives being undertaken by universities and colleges across the world and are endorsed by United Nations Environment and are supported by The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), L’Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) and International Association of Universities (IAU). Established as the most prestigious recognition of sustainability best practice within the education sector globally, the International Green Gown Awards provide benchmarks for excellence and are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The International Green Gown Awards 2019 Winners' Brochure contains an overview of all the Winner and Finalist projects including their top project learnings along the way and their top SDG goals.
