Sustainability and Circularity Workshop

RMIT and the Sustainability Supply Chain School hosted a workshop on circular economy at RMIT University on Tuesday 25 February 2020. The workshop looked at strategy, models and funding to support and help industry better engage with and benefit from circular economy.

Supply Chain Sustainability School Partners, RMIT University and Sustainability Victoria were joined by Planet Ark at the School’s latest event on 25 February 2020 to foretell the future of Australia’s circular economy. Attendees were welcomed to “Spiralling into the future of our circular economy” by Dean of Property, Construction and Project Management at RMIT University, Prof Ron Wakefield.

This event was treated to three world-class speakers before rolling up their sleeves to workshop barriers and priorities with facilitators Melissa Glenister and Kavitha Chandra-Shekeran from RMIT University.

  • Dr Usha Iyer-Raniga, Professor Sustainable built environment at RMIT University, presented on “Circular economy case studies “
  • Steve Morriss, Head of Circular Economy Development at Planet Ark, presented on “Planet Ark’s vision of a circular economy in Australia”
  • Melanie Oke, Circular Economy Lead at Sustainability Victoria, presented on government leadership in the circular economy.
