The information on this page applies to students approved to undertake short-term study at an Exchange partner institution under one of these arrangements:
Before you enrol in courses at the host institute, you must:
Once you have received approval for your studies from the Global Learning Office and from the host institution, you will need to drop your on-campus courses (RMIT classes) via Enrolment Online.
You can then enrol in school-specific Exchange or Study Abroad courses (EXTL classes) via Enrolment Online. The EXTL course codes will be provided to you via your RMIT email address by the Global Learning team prior to your departure.
It is your responsibility to read the 'Host Acceptance & RMIT Enrolment' email carefully and to ensure you are correctly enrolled at both RMIT and the partner institution.
If you want to cancel your short-term studies, contact the Global Learning Office through Student Connect.
Your host institution will provide you with an official copy of your transcript, which will state the courses and grades that you obtained while on Exchange. You must provide a copy of this transcript to RMIT University via Student Connect. RMIT Global Learning will send this to your RMIT School so that grades can be entered for your Exchange courses.
In some instances, your host institution may provide your official transcript to RMIT Global Learning only. If this occurs, RMIT Global Learning will provide both you and your RMIT School with a copy of the transcript for your records and for grade processing.
If you are going on an RMIT-taught study tour, enrolment information will be provided to you by the RMIT School running the tour. You must enrol in the class specified by your RMIT School to gain access to study materials in Canvas.
If you need help with the enrolment process, contact Student Connect and log an enquiry through ‘Ask about enrolment’.
If you have any other questions about this study arrangement, go to ‘Ask about studying overseas’.
