How to use the Framework
Use the Collection Development and Management Framework if you need guidance on:
- what to consider when selecting learning resources for your course
- how to request resources for the Library General Collection
- how requests are evaluated, and how long it might take for decisions to be made and actioned
- what to do when donating items to the Library
- how to access the Library Collection.
The Framework also gives you an insight into:
- how the Library selects new resources to add to the General Collection
- our approach to donations
- how the Library collections budget impacts how we develop and manage the General Collection
- how we review the Library General Collection and make decisions about which resources to keep, cancel or remove from the collection.
Reviews and responsibilities
The Collection Development and Management Framework is updated as required. The review for minor amendments is done at least once a year.
Associate Director, Library Collections is responsible for the Collection Development and Management Framework. Feedback can be provided to the Associate Director or Senior Coordinator, Collection Development via any Library communication channel.
Appeals based on the application of the Collection Development and Management Framework can be lodged with the Executive Director, Library Services.
