Collection Development Framework

The Collection Development and Management Framework (the Framework) describes how the Library acquires, maintains and evaluates resources to ensure our Collections:

  • align with the learning, teaching, research and cultural priorities, and values of the University
  • stay relevant, accessible and sensitive to the diverse needs of RMIT community
  • champion ethical stewardship, sustainability and community engagement
  • fulfil the University's legal responsibilities
  • respond to the ever-changing higher education landscape.

The framework includes the Library Responsible Practice principles, the IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Access) framework (PDF, 9.7MB), the Library Digital Strategy and Digital Preservation Strategy (PDF, 6.6MB).
