Tips for better search results
Are you getting too many or too few results? Try these techniques:
LibrarySearch uses AND between keywords by default, so a search will usually find results containing all your search terms.
Use uppercase OR to find results containing at least one of your search terms and increase the number of relevant results.
Example: film OR movie
Use uppercase NOT to exclude a word or phrase and reduce the number of results.
Example: video NOT YouTube
Use parentheses () to group search terms.
Example: Shakespeare (tragedy OR sonnet)
Use an asterisk (*) to replace multiple characters and increase the number of relevant results.
Example: behavio* will find behavior, behaviors, behavioral and behaviour, behaviours, behavioural.
Use a question mark (?) to replace one character and increase the number of relevant results.
Example: wom?n will find woman, women and womyn.
Search with LibrarySearch AI
There are two AI features that can help you explore a topic using a question or statement rather than a set of keywords:
Enter a question or describe what you are looking for in your own words. Natural Language Search identifies relevant concepts and returns sources that may be useful for your research.
AI Research Assistant can help you understand your search results by providing a summary and links to relevant sources.
Use AI features only as part of your research process.

Looking for specialised sources?
In the top menu of the LibrarySearch, you will find two options that let you search individual databases or locate specific journals.
Library databases contain high-quality and peer-reviewed online content. Some cover a broad range of disciplines and materials, and others focus on a subject area or resource type. Many of the resources found in library databases can't be located using general search engines, such as Google.

Search for a specific database by title, or browse by title or a category.
Journals
Search for a specific print or e-journal using title or ISSN, or browse by title or a category.
