Research Writing Month opening event: panel discussion

How might Indigenous perspectives enrich the ways we approach research practice and writing? This year’s Research Writing Month opens with a panel discussion which draws on the framework of Indigenous Ways of Knowing, Doing and Being.

Our Indigenous doctoral researcher panelists will explore how First Nations knowledges, relationships, values, and lived experiences inform their research practices, writing and scholarly identity. The session aims to foster dialogue and responsible practice around culturally responsive, relational and inclusive approaches to research across disciplines.

Join us for this insightful and stimulating discussion.

Panel Host: Cathy Doe, Principal First Nations Library Advisor, RMIT University Library.

Date: Thursday 1 October 2026
Time: 12pm–1:30pm
