Planned disruptions to all Library systems: 24 January to 9 February

RMIT Vietnam Library and RMIT Australia Library systems are merging to provide a better experience and access to digital resources for Vietnam students. This will cause a planned outage that will impact our users.

There will be restrictions to LibrarySearch and borrowing between Sunday 24 January and Tuesday 9 February 2027. Please be aware of the following disruptions to usual service.

For all users

LibrarySearch will be in “read only” mode. You will be able to search for and access online resources such as e-books and electronic journals. However, you will not be able to place holds, save records or change your personal information.

Borrowing physical items on campus will be possible, but these items will not show up on your record until after the merger is complete.

For Vietnam users only: Bookmarks and Saved Recordswill break after the merger. You will need to recreate them. Any Saved Records and Saved Searches will be lost during the merger. You can export records using these instructions. Other Library users will not be affected by this.

For educators

FromMonday 18 January and Friday 12 February, no changes to reading lists will be possible. Please avoid creating, editing, publishing or rolling over your reading lists during this time. Any changes made to Reading Lists while the merger is underway may be lost. This is due to the Leganto reading list software being integrated as part of the merger.

We understand this merger is happening at a time when many educators would update their reading lists for Semester 1 2027. Please endeavour to get your updates in ahead of the merger if possible. Alternatively, you may wish to compile your reading list in Word and then build it in the system after the merger is complete.

For Vietnam educators only: Library staff will export Vietnamese reading lists during the week starting Monday 18 January, and copy them into the new merged system during the week ending Friday 12 February.

After that, you will be able to check and change your reading lists via Canvas as normal.

If you prefer to manage your reading lists directly in Leganto, you can access them after 12 February via the URL for the new merged system.
