RMIT is deeply concerned by the events unfolding in Iran and our thoughts are with all those who are experiencing violence in the face of peaceful protests and support for women's rights.
We condemn the attacks on universities and support the basic freedoms and rights of students in Iran and around the world.
RMIT is actively reaching out to members of our community we believe could be impacted to offer a range of support services.
For students here and in Iran, these include free access to our Student Welfare Advisors, 1:1 wellbeing peer support from other international students, and confidential mental health support and counselling accessible through RMIT Student Connect.
Our staff can access support via the Employee Assistance Program.
Even when not directly impacted by the situation in Iran, events like this can cause distress for many reasons. Staff and students who need support are encouraged to reach out.
We remain united in the belief that everyone in our community, no matter where they live or study, has the right to feel safe.
